The YBNetwork is a website to simply “Connect Teams & Tournaments”, to make it easier for you! We realize teams have many choices for tournaments and leagues through a variety of organizations. Our goal is to create a web site that will help teams and tournaments connect so competition can be maximized for teams at quality run tournaments through a seamless system where communication is also maximized. Other objectives include Club Teams being able to advertise their organizations so players know where to look to join teams, creating YBN Connect! a social media tool for teams to interact along with tournament directors.
Our vision is to reach a critical mass so the YBNetwork “Is The Place to FIND and be FOUND”, whether you are a team or tournament director. We hope you take this opportunity to support our vision by joining the YBNetwork and provide feedback to make youth basketball easier for you!
In order to help teams and tournaments connect so competition can be maximized, we have created a sign-up process to help tournament directors identify teams and match teams accordingly. When possible, tournaments will schedule their tournament to match your team by Grade, Skill, and then Class.
Grade based on the current school year, defined as Sept. 1st to Aug. 31st
Therefore, any summer teams will be viewed as the grade they just left (i.e. a 4th grade team in July will be comprised of 4th graders who just completed 4th grade.) Always know that each tournament director will schedule their tournament accordingly to their rules and their own age classification.
Club Team or School Team. A club team is defined as a group of players from different schools.
This could be a recreational team or a team of players who made the team through try-outs or were recruited to be on the team. A school team is comprised of players from the same school, going to school in the same building. Always know that each tournament director will schedule their tournament accordingly to their rules.
Skill (1,2 or 3)
1 or 2 or 3. Skill 1 are teams that want to play the best competition. Skill 1 teams are Club Teams that have held try-outs or recruited players to be on their team. Skill 2 are teams looking for competitive games against skilled players. Skill 2 teams are Club Teams or successful School Teams. Skill 3 are Club Teams formed for recreational reasons and School Teams looking to continue to develop their skills in a competitive setting. Always know that each tournament director will schedule their tournament accordingly to their rules.
